The fall of 2008, I had the honor of being the first Artist in Residence at Gould Academy, a prep school at the base of Maine's White Mountains.  I taught a small class, was fed and housed in this wonderful community, and painted in the bonanza of fall color.  All was new to me: the riverbed farmland, the mountains that keep coming like ocean swells, and the sweeping changes of autumn.  Here are the resulting paintings, loosely in order.
